LONDON (Reuters) - "Britain’s Got Talent" winner Paul Potts resisted strong pressure to take top spot in the album charts for a third week running, the Official UK Charts Company said on Sunday.
Potts, from Port Talbot in Wales, shot to fame after he auditioned for and won Simon Cowell’s hit TV show with a rousing rendition of "Nessun Dorma".
Potts’s debut album "One Chance" pipped a couple of new entries for the top slot, with Scottish singer Amy MacDonald’s debut album "This is The Life" entering at two and singer Newton Faulkner’s "Hand Built by Robots" coming in at three.
Innovative funk artist Prince, who has sold 80 million albums worldwide, was a third new entry in the top 10 at six with "Ultimate".

There was no change at the top of the singles chart with American producer and rapper Timbaland’s collaboration with U.S. singer Keri Hilson and New York rapper D.O.E., "The Way I Are", securing the number one spot for a second successive week.
London singer-songwriter Kate Nash was steady at number two with "Foundations", while the Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie moved up one to three with "Big Girls Don’t Cry", as former number one Rihanna’s "Umbrella" dropped one to four.
Swedish pop singer Robyn’s dance track "With Every Heartbeat" -- featuring Kleerup -- was the only new entry in the top 10 singles chart, entering at five, while Enrique Iglesias’s "Do You Know" falling one to six.
Not content with a strong showing in the album charts, Faulkner’s single "Dream Catch Me" rose nine places to seven as London rock band The Hoosiers’ "Worried About Ray" fell two to eight.
Dance act Groove Armada with "Song 4 Mutya" was another faller, slipping one to nine, while Plain White T’s rounded up the top 10 with "Hey There Delilah" after a climb of 16 places.
