LONDON (Reuters) - Television show "Britain’s Got Talent" winner Paul Potts has stormed to the top of the album charts with his debut offering, the Official Charts Company said on Sunday.
Pott’s "One Chance" pushed last week’s number one, "We’ll Live and Die in these Towns" by Enemy, down to second place, outselling the Coventry trio’s long-player by over 100,000 copies.
From Port Talbot in Wales, Potts shot to fame after he auditioned for and won Simon Cowell’s hit TV show with a rousing rendition of "Nessun Dorma".
"Having a number one album is more than I would ever have dreamed of," said former mobile phone salesman Potts, who is now signed to Cowell’s record label SyCo Music, part of Sony BMG.

"My life has changed so much in the past month and in such amazing ways", added Potts.
The Traveling Wilburys’ album "Collection" remained at number three, with singer-songwriter Mika’s "Life in Cartoon Motion" at number four, while Timbaland’s "Shock Value" moved to fifth place from 17th.
In the singles charts, R&B singer Rihanna notched up her tenth straight week at number one with "Umbrella", featuring New York rapper Jay-Z.
The last single to hold the top place for ten consecutive weeks was Wet Wet Wet’s "Love Is All Around", which was number one for 15 weeks in 1994.
London singer-songwriter Kate Nash climbed one place to number two with "Foundations", while American hip-hop producer Timbaland rose one place to third position with "The Way I Are", featuring New York rapper D.O.E. and R&B singer Keri Hilson.
Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie dropped two places to fourth with "Big Girls Don’t Cry" as Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias climbed two to fifth with "Do You Know".
London rock band the Hoosiers’ "Worried About Ray" was another climber, moving up two to sixth position as Canadian singer Avril Lavigne fell one to seventh with "When You’re Gone".
New York based producer Mark Ronson’s "Oh My God" featuring Lily Allen rose four to eighth, Sheffield rockers Arctic Monkey’s "Fluorescent Adolescent" dropped to ninth, with Chemical Romance’s "Teenagers" rounding off the top ten.
