LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Filmmaker George C. Wolfe ("Lackawanna Blues") is set to direct Jamie Foxx in the legal drama "Blood on the Leaves."

The Paramount Pictures project centres on a district attorney who grapples with feelings of revenge as he prosecutes a black history professor on trial for the murders of white men accused of crimes against blacks during the Civil Rights movement. The studio is searching for a second male lead.

The story is based on Jeffrey Stetson’s 2004 novel.

Wolfe won a DGA Award for directing the HBO ensemble drama "Lackawanna," for which he also was nominated for an Emmy. He is filming the Richard Gere-Diane Lane romance "Nights in Rodanthe" for Warner Bros. Pictures.
