Coolio was a one-man argument starting machine when he appeared in Celebrity Big Brother 2009.

The Gangsta’s Paradise rapper was banned from swearing, reduced Michelle Heaton to tears and fell out with Ulrika Jonsson.

But he did not stop there. His views on racism, the drinking exploits of English women and his loud and very detailed descriptions of his energetic sex life meant he managed to offend almost the entire house at one time or another.

But he showed off a softer side behind the gangster image as well when he cuddled Mancunian motormouth Terry Christian and was moved to tears when Big Brother let him watch Barack Obama’s inauguration.

His confrontational style did not seem to offend the viewers – he survived until the show’s finale and eventually finished third.
