Winehouse's dad sobs at shrine to singer

Amy Winehouse's father Mitch broke down in tears on Monday (25Jul11) as he viewed floral tributes outside the tragic singer's home.

Hundreds of fans have flocked to the location of the Rehab hitmaker's London apartment where she was found dead on Saturday afternoon (23Jul11).

The streets outside the property have become a makeshift shrine to the singer since her death, and her dad Mitch and mother Janis visited the property on Monday to read the well-wishes and thank fans for their support.

Mitch, who scrapped a mini-tour of U.S. jazz clubs and returned to Britain on hearing the tragic news, was seen quietly sobbing as he read the thousands of tributes from fans.

He shook hands with many of those gathered outside the apartment block, saying: "Thank you. Thank you so much for coming. I hope to see you again soon."

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place on Monday (25Jul11) to determine the cause of death.
