Ryan Kwanten - Biography

In a nutshell

Remember getting home from school and tuning into either Neighbours or Home & Away? The thing with those addictive shows is that every now and again, one of the 'stars' managed to leave and ? shock horror ? actually make themselves known outside of dreary British households. Take Kylie, take Jason, take Dannii, take Holly ...actually no, lets forget Holly Valance. But there's somebody new to add to our list ? Ryan Kwanten! He's left behind the shores of Summer Bay and arrived in Hollywood.

Born in Sydney, Ryan joined Home & Away back in 1997 to play the role of Vinnie Patterson. Although we were more of a Neighbours fan, we often caught Vinnie generally looking relatively sexy, working as a lifeguard, and getting into trouble ? probably with Alf.

Of course you can't stay on a show like H&A forever ? there are pop songs to release. Thankfully Ryan chose not to follow that career choice and instead thought a move to the US would be more for him.

He got a role in the short-lived series Summerland in 2004 but it wasn't enough to propel him to the big-time. However, you can always rely on a smash HBO series to take you there and, true to form, they delivered with the captivating True Blood.

In the series Ryan plays the slightly dumb yet very sexy Jason Stackhouse and although we see a lot of his face (as you do in a television show), we also seem to see a hell of a lot of his rear. Not that many people are complaining, we're sure...
