All about this star

In a nutshell

A popular actor, Philip was brought up in Harrow, London. He went to the Central School of Speech and Drama and his first interest in acting is thought to come from seeing his brother in a play about the Sex Pistols. Well, anything with sex in the title is bound to catch your attention, right?

He's starred in some popular television dramas including Clocking Off, State of Play, Hornblower, Sharpe and the film which lots of people went to see even though it involves old women taking off their clothes, Calendar Girls.

One of the most popular shows of the past few years was BBC One's Life on Mars which saw Philip playing the role of Gene Hunt. Although that series finished after 2 series, it was followed up by Ashes to Ashes and the role continued.

Philip married Beth Goddard in 2006 and they have two children, Charlotte and Millie.
