All about this star

In a nutshell

Matt Horne studied performing arts at the University of Manchester and soon after started his career as a stand up comedian. He entered into a double act with Bruce Mackinnon, the friend he met at University, and the pair first performed together at the Edinburgh Festival in 2000.

Catherine Tate was at the Edinburgh Festival and, after seeing Matthew perform, decided she liked him so much that she asked him to perform characters with her in The Catherine Tate Show.

Matthew starred in Channel 4's 20 Things to do Before You're 30 (which wasn't very good) before landing a role in one of our favourite comedies, Teachers. He played Ben, the RE teacher.

It seems Kylie Minogue is a fan of James - she asked him to star in sketches for The Kylie Show, a one-off special recorded for ITV in 2007. She also ended up co-hosting the 2009 Brit Awards with him.

We love a good comedy double-act and, following closely on the heels of Matt Lucas and David Walliams comes Matthew Horne and James Corden. The pair star together in Gavin & Stacy and are currently filming a new sketch show for the BBC. They were spotted recently with Kylie, recording a special sketch for the show. The show itself started in March 2009 to, quite frankly, awful reviews.

For the 2007 series Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack, Matthew and James presented the Big Mouth spin-off show which was shown across the series on E4.

Did you know?

Matthew was nominated for the Best Male Comedy Newcomer at the 2007 British Comedy Awards. We don't know if he won or not because 2007 was the year that they weren't on TV...
