Kylie is one of those rare stars who you feel like you've grown up with, you feel like you know and who you really want to be friends with. That's right, Kylie is a genuine superstar.

Getting into showbiz at an early age, Kylie had roles in The Sullivans and The Henderson Kids before starring as everyone's favourite mechanic (and you never thought you'd have a favourite mechanic, right?) Charlene Mitchell in Neighbours. With the soap pulling in millions of viewers in Australia and the UK, Kylie became a household name and it was for this reason alone that she started on the road of being a popstar.

After releasing the Loco-Motion she started working with legendary producers Stock, Aiken and Waterman. They provided her with some of her biggest hits like Better The Devil You Know, Especially For You and I Should Be So Lucky.

Growing in confidence, Kylie continued with her career by deciding to diversify and record a different sound to her usual pop. Although not always successful, Kylie has been hailed as brilliantly reinventive by continuing to move with the times and always stay in touch with what her fans want.

After a bit of a low point she bounced back with her infamous gold hotpants for her single Spinning Around. This was yet another invention of Kylie and lead to her biggest success, Can't Get You Out Of My Head.

One area where Kylie hasn't been quite so lucky is with her love life. There's always constant stories about Kylie being lonely at 40, never going to have kids, blah blah. But she has spoken about her desire to start a family and settle down, we're sure it'll happen at some point.

Kylie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, forcing her to cancel her tour half way through. After being out of the limelight for treatment, Kylie returned to the stage, renaming her show 'Showgirl: Homecoming'. Her album, X, was released in 2007.

After a long wait, Kylie's American fans were finally rewarded with a tour in 2009. Hailed as a huge success by the critics, Kylie proved why she'll always be the queen of pop.

Kylie released her next album Aphrodite in July 2010. She has been dating spanish model Andres Velencoso since October 2008.
