Kirsty Allsopp - Biography

In a nutshell

Everyone knows Kirsty because she's one half of the 'Richard and Judy' of the home world. Alongside Phil, Kirsty can often be seen wearing massive winter coats with the biggest buttons we've ever seen on any human ever.

We knew Kirsty was quite posh when we first saw her on TV ? we have a knack for being able to gauge that sort of thing. And we were right, she's the daughter of Charles Henry Allsopp, a former chairman of auction-house Christie's.

When she was younger Kirsty spent some time teaching English in India (or 'Inja', depending on where you're from) before returning to the UK working for various magazines like Country Living and Food & Homes magazine. Her mother also ran her own interiors business which Kirsty worked at for a while.

But how did she get into presenting television shows about homes? We're not entirely sure but it might have something to do with the business she set up, Kirmir Property Finders. Presumably this business helped people find a property. Hopefully one they could comfortably afford, in hindsight...

Kirsty has a lovely little family; she's in a long-term relationship with Ben Anderson and the couple have two sons. One is called Oscar, which is a lovely name. And the other, we think, is called Bay Atlas. That's right, we haven't typed that incorrectly as far as we know. Bay Atlas? We thought Apple or Brooklyn were wild enough, thanks.
