In a nutshell
We absolutely love Kim Cattrall. Us modern folk will know her best as her sex-obsessed alter ego Samantha Jones in Sex and the City but she's been around the block (in the nicest possible way) many times before that.
She was one of four children when she was born not in glamorous LA or New York, but Widnes in Lancashire. Kim was less than a year old, though, when the whole family migrated to Courtenay in Canada. She came back to England when she was 11 and ended up studying at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Then it was back onto a plane and over again to Canada, aged 16.
One of her first major roles was as Dr Gabrielle White in The Incredible Hulk. Excitingly for Dr White, she was one of the few people who knew that David Banner could in fact turn into the big green slob. What a lucky girl.
Kim landed the role of Samantha in Sex and the City back in 1987 (which seems a long, long time ago now). The HBO show caused an outcry when it first aired because of the frank discussion of sex and, more often than not, Samantha finding herself in various interesting positions....
A little bit like Samantha, Kim has seen her fair share of guys. She's been married three times ? firstly to Larry Davis, secondly to Andre J Lyson and finally to Mark Levinson. Kim and Mark actually wrote a book together in 2002 called Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm. We don't know if it was illustrated...
Kim currently lives in New York City (so keep an eye out for her if you're ever over there, SATC fans) but regularly visits the UK.
