Julia Davis - Biography

In a nutshell

Born in Bath, Julia studied English and Drama in the lovely city of York before setting up her own double act at a local theatre group. Which sounds like it might have been a hoot. But, even better, Rob Brydon decided to join in and the three of them became in improvisation group.

It isn't easy to break into showbiz so a tried and tested method is to write to your favourite star and beg them to help you along a bit. Julia did just this, sending a tape of her performing to Alan Partridge star, Steve Coogan. He invited her to feature in an episode of his sitcom, I'm Alan Partidge.

Since then she's proved her worth, taking roles in Big Train, Nathan Barley, Gavin & Stacy and the brilliant Brass Eye.

She's also written one of the best comedy shows on TV, Nighty Night.
