Colin Farrell - Biography

In a nutshell

For a time, Colin Farrell was the new George Clooney. Or perhaps the new Brad Pitt. At a push, the new Beckham. But not any more. What do we mean? Well, you know ? he was the man that women wanted to be with and the man other guys would go for a pint with.

He was born in Dublin, 1976 and his Daddy was a football player. Colin didn't follow suit, though, and he went to a drama school and pursued his dream of being an actor. And what better 'breakthrough' role than BBC One's Ballykissangel. Sunday night viewers, lucky you!

His good looks ? and probably the gorgeous Irish accent ? have helped Colin rack up an impressive list of film credits, including Minority Report, S.W.A.T. and Phone Booth.

Colin might have had a million adoring fans up and down the country but he chose to marry actress Amelia Warner in July 2001. However things didn't work out and they divorced just four months later. Four months!! That's pretty good going even by our standards...

Next up, time to have a child. Colin became a father when model Kim Bordenave gave birth to their son in 2003.

Any good heartthrob needs a bit of controversy by his side and Colin's had his fair share. One of our favourite moments is when Colin launched legal action against his ex-girlfriend, Playboy model Nicole Narine, when a tape of them having sex 'fell into the wrong hands'. Some months later they managed to patch up their legal differences although Colin still chased a company who wanted to distribute it.

In 2005, Colin entered a clinic to try and manage he exhaustion and dependency on prescription drugs.

Colin has somewhat disappeared from our lives over the last year or so and we've no idea where he is or what he's been doing. If enough of you agree, lets set up our 'Where's Colin??' appeal immediately.

Colin auditioned to be a member of Boyzone (the pop group, not anything sordid!) before he hit the big time. He obviously didn't have The X Factor...
