Alan Carr - Biography

In a nutshell

We love a bit of Alan Carr, and doesn't everybody? Well, perhaps not the case but his cheeky laugh, camp ways and amazing dentistry really set him apart from other comedians. Alan got his career off to a flying start, winning the Citylife 'New Comedian of the Year' award, closely followed by the BBC's own 'New Comedian of the Year' gong, something pretty impressive in itself.

From there it's been going well ever since. You can't really miss him on TV these days, especially since he's taken the helm of Channel 4's 'Friday Night Project' with Justin Lee Collins and in 2008 was given his own sparkly gameshow, 'Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong' which saw celebrities take on members of the pubic in a serious of crazy rounds.

If you've ever seen Alan we're hoping you'd like to join our cause to make him 'spectacle wearer of the year' at some point soon. Those frames alone must keep the local optician in business for a while...

Alan presented part of Red Nose Day 2009 on BBC One with a new co-host. It wasn't Justin Lee Collins. It was a surprisingly brilliant choice of Fern Britton. The pair worked together like hot buttered toast (!) and we hope to see Alan standing in for Phil Schofield next time he pulls a sickie on This Morning...

More recently Alan has been presenting his own show 'Chatty Man' on Channel 4. He now counts Kylie Minogue amongst his A-List chums.
