TalkTalk have created this exclusive celebrity biography of Fern Britton - we believe it to be the most comprehensive on the web.
Attention all of you mass unemployed and/or skivers! This one's for you. We're sure you probably watch that show in the mornings on ITV. You know the one. It's called This Morning and it's presented, most of the time, by the wondrous combination of Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton. And best not get her confused with Fearne Cotton.
Fern started out life as a fully suited and booted local newsreader going between ITV and the BBC reading stories about cats being stuck up the tree and burst water pipes. All very exciting, obviously.
But, there were brighter things to come for this young starlet. Before it was ruined by the hideously high-pitched Ainsley Harriot, Fearne presented Ready, Steady, Cook! on BBC Two afternoons, presiding over two hopeless wannabe contestants trying to knock together some cheapy meal.
We loved the show, and so did you. But good things can't last forever. Fearne left and moved onto lots of other things. I we mean LOTS. She presented Soapstar Superstar (series one, before Zoe Ball ran in and took over), the British Soap Awards, Have I Got News For You, Mr and Mrs..... hopefully she managed to pause for breathe in between all of that!
Of course her most famous role is presenting This Morning with the silver fox himself. When she joined the show in 1999 ratings went through the roof and the pair of them are pretty well known for their saucy outbursts of laughter.
On a more personal note, Fearne is married to partly-famous TV chef Phil Vickery. She had to go into hiding (we're not kidding!) when the press revealed that she'd had a gastric band fitted to help her lose weight. Because we all thought she'd done it the natural way, etc etc. How shocked we were!!!! Hang on, nobody actually cared in the end and that news is now well and truly forgotten.
Fearne shocked the nation by announcing her departure from 'This Morning'. So the race is on to replace her, but who will it be?
