The beautiful Torrens riverside
With the sun beating down and the temperatures a world away from the British winter, I thought my best bet would be to set out exploring by foot. With the help of my local guide, Sandy, I was treated to a thorough but enjoyable walking trip around this vibrant and bustling city. Although not usually a fan of walking around for an entire day by foot, I couldn't recommend this tour enough. Sandy made sure I saw the best of the place, including the fantastic food market showcasing local produce and the gorgeous riverside.

The fantastic Medina Grand Hotel
If you're feeling cultured there are plenty of world-class museums and galleries to keep you occupied and food fans won’t be disappointed earlier. I spotted several great looking restaurants during my walk and that evening gave my feet a well-earned rest in Mesa Lunga, a tasty local tapas place.
After a long day of exploring I was ready to hit the sack, and what better place to do it than in the fine Medina Grand Hotel, slap bang in the middle of town. And the rooms are far from ordinary - as the hotel is in what used to be the old treasury building you’ll be treated to an apartment-style suite with plenty of space, high ceilings and one of the comfiest beds of the entire trip.
Book a room at the Medina Grand Hotel
One of Adelaide's strongest points is its location, providing easy access to Barossa wine region and to my next stop, Kangaroo Island.
