Barbican and Plymouth Hoe
2 miles, 1.5 hours

Where does it go?
It's a circular, pushchair-friendly walk around Plymouth's historic waterfront, starting at the Mayflower Visitor Centre on the Elizabethan Barbican, where the ships of Raleigh and Drake weighed anchor. The clever bit is that you can dial 0870 0841331 on your mobile to access a BBC commentary on the history of what you are seeing (it should cost £2-3 in total, depending on your network).

What will I see?
You'll pass the Hoe (where Sir Francis Drake was playing bowls when the Armada was first sighted), the Royal Citadel, the yacht club and more.
