The Telectroscopes are open 24 hours a day, although there may be periods when they are closed briefly for routine maintenance or to give access to school groups etc.
Fast track
Business meeting? Marriage proposal? Large numbers of people are visiting the Telectroscopes and sometimes there are long queues. Each day we are able to grant one or two fast track requests to enable small groups of people at both ends to link up for a special reason. Tell us why and when you need priority access to the Telectroscope and you might win the chance to jump to the front of the queue. Please be aware, however, that demand for fast track access is currently much higher than we can meet and you may be better off making your own arrangements. There are friendly teams of event assistants in both locations who will be able to advise you about likely wait times and help make your visit a success.

Amazing discoveries…
This compass was used by Alexander Stanhope St George, inventor of the Telectroscope, when carrying out the original excavations for the transatlantic tunnel in the late 19th century.
