Microsoft Word allows users to type any imaginable accented letters or symbols in documents. However, with so many possibilities – from writing whole documents in a foreign language to simply wanting to use the appropriate accents in some common-usage words – it’s not always obvious how to get a particular character to appear. This is, of course, a combination of software settings and hardware constraints. Most people will have Word set up to work in English and most keyboards in use in English-speaking countries sport only English characters and symbols.Fortunately, it’s actually easy to get Word to behave just the way you want it to. This Workshop explains how to proceed in both Word 2003 and 2007.
