The social media service Twitter has become very popular over the past couple of years. It is a substantial source of constantly updated information with a mix of serious and not-so-serious contributors.And for better or worse, people around the world love to post updates called ‘tweets’, about their thoughts, ideas and information they think may be of interest to others.Twitter maintains a live list of ‘trending topics’ that provides an overview of what is being discussed on the service. However, with millions of mini updates posted each hour, filtering certain topics or locating particular tweets or contributors can be a challenge.Fortunately, Twitter provides a comprehensive search system and in this short Workshop, we will show how it can be used.
