One of the most common ways to fall foul of viruses, spyware or fraudulent activity is by browsing the web. Although the latest versions of Internet Explorer and other web browsers offer some protection against scam websites, these tools tend to be pretty basic. Web of Trust (WOT) is a browser plug-in that provides a welcome layer of extra protection for Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer users. It provides colour-coded safety ratings for websites, search engine results and links that appear in web-based emails. It can also be used to keep kids away from unsuitable websites and is both simple to install and use, and will not cost you a penny to use. We show you how to use it.Baffled by jargon?
