Phishing is the name given to an online scam whereby criminals fool unsuspecting computer users into entering passwords or other sensitive information into bogus websites.Such sites can be avoided partly by deleting but also by using special anti-phishing features in modern web browsers. Internet Explorer and Firefox have anti-phishing filters that will flag up suspect sites and in this Workshop we’ll show you how to use them. We are using the most common versions of each browser: Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3.If you are using the new Internet Explorer 8 browser, see Step 6 for details of what has changed. Those using an older version should visit Microsoft or Firefox to upgrade.Baffled by jargon? See our free online jargon buster
