Date: 17-06-2009

The Windows Desktop is usually regarded as a means to an end – a necessary, workaday space that won’t get in the way while you attempt to launch programs. From time to time, though, something comes along that makes it easier to reconsider the Desktop and perhaps start running those other programs in windows rather than full screen. That way, it’s possible to get some work done while still enjoying these remarkable images of planet earth as seen from space. In this Workshop we’re going to show you how to set up the correct time zone and add some cloud cover. Then you can sit back and enjoy Desktop Earth as it cycles through the day, showing sunrise and sunset, brightly lit cities at night and weather patterns during the day.
