Keep your important documents on a credit-card-sized device
We've looked at a few Clickfree products before (see below for details).
The company makes simple backup devices which combine easy-to-use backup software and dedicated devices, and the Traveler, despite the American spelling, is no exception.
It's a slim device the size of a thick credit card with a pop-out section at one end that plugs into a computer's USB port. The device itself is quite strong but the cable felt flimsy.
Once plugged in, the user is prompted to run the Clickfree software which is included. The first time we ran it we were prompted to update it over the internet, which passed smoothly. The software is the same as before – it offers a simple step-by-step process and you can select which files to back up.
The device comes with 32GB of stotrage, which will be enough for some but if you have more data than that on your computer you'll need to look elsewhere. It prompted us when it ran out of space, to choose which categories to exclude to save space.
The copying process was quick once it started – no quicker than with a standard hard disk, admittedly, but no slower either.
At €120 (£105) it's twice as expensive as a standard 32GB USB memory key but the simple backup software makes it a decent deal, though the company's hard disk products may be better value.
