Multifunction printers hailed for cost, energy savings
Xerox has released a pair of new multi-function printer (MFP) systems for mid-sized enterprises.
The company said that the WorkCentre 7545 and 7556 MFPs offer improved document printing and handling features as well as a major step forward in environmental efficiency.
The systems offer medium-sized enterprises the ability to print at rates as high as 55 pages per minute as well as scan, fax, copy and e-mail document files. The printer operates as a resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi and includes tools to manage user permissions and route documents to the appropriate network printer.
The printers will also support printing via USB and will offer the option to directly upload scanned documents to a PC or e-mail inbox.
Among the most highly touted features on the new WorkCentre systems will be its green technology components. The MFP systems allow users to conserve paper through 2-sided printing and will use toner that requires lower temperatures to melt.
Other earth-friendly features on the printers include Energy Star compliance as well as an LED scanner lamp which requires one third of the energy of traditional scanner hardware.
"Xerox continues to introduce new products that respond to today’s fast-paced, changing work environment," said Xerox enterprise business group president Rick Dastin.
"These new MFPs offer better ways to manage documents, making our customers more productive and efficient, and ultimately, more competitive."
