Updated line-up includes models with Intel’s latest Core chips
HP has unveiled an updated portfolio of business desktops at CES 2011, including models based on Intel’s latest Core processor family and a new all-in-one model aimed at smaller companies.
The new line-up includes the HP Compaq 8200 Elite at the top end, followed by the HP Compaq 6200 Pro, HP Compaq 4000 Pro and the HP 100B All-in-One PC.
Available from March, the HP Compaq 8200 Elite is the company’s new premium business PC range, and includes systems based on Intel’s new Sandy Bridge Core vPro chips, delivering up to 40 per cent greater performance than existing HP desktops, the company claimed.
Additionally, the 8200 Elite models offer discrete graphics options and several form factors ranging from a convertible minitower for maximum expansion to the small form factor and ultra-slim desktop chassis. Prices for the HP Compaq 8200 Elite start at $679 (£435).
The HP Compaq 6200 Pro has fewer options, but is described by HP as the optimal choice for customers needing basic manageability and security features in a business PC. Pricing for this line, which will also be available from March, starts at $619 (£395).
Intended as a cost-effective mainstream business PC, the HP Compaq 4000 Pro models are available in HP’s small form factor chassis, and feature legacy PC technologies such as PCI expansion slots, PS/2 and serial ports for protection of existing technology investments, the firm said. These start at $499 (£320) and will be available from February.
The HP 100B All-in-One PC is a space-saving design aimed at delivering smaller companies the capabilities they require, according to HP. Integrated into a 20in flat-screen display, the system is based on AMD dual-core processors and priced from $499.
HP also unveiled three new thin client models, the HP t5550, t5565 and t5570. All three are based on 1GHz Via Nano processors, but run Windows CE 6.0, HP ThinPro and Windows Embedded Standard 2009 respectively.
