Discover how to enter fractions in a Works or Excel document

Q How do I enter fractions in a Works spreadsheet? Mara Adams

A In Works or Excel, press the spacebar after entering the number and before you enter the fraction.

Normally, both spreadsheets interpret a “/” mark as part of a date.

But if you insert a space between the number and the fraction they will display a fraction.

For a fraction without a number, enter a zero, a space, and then the fraction.
