31st August 1998: A statue bearing portraits of Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed stands in the window of the Harrods store 31 August as a tribute on the first anniversary of the death of the Princess of Wales and her lover Dodi. Mohamed Al Fayed, Dodi's father, commissioned the statue which will be a place for members of the public to pay their respects to the couple. The Princess was killed 31 August 1997 during a holiday with Dodi Al-Fayed in Paris after the black Mercedes they were travelling crashed at high speed in a Seine-side underpass.
