A large and attractive beetle. Colour usually shiny bronzy-green, the elytra flecked with white lines and marks. Elytra parallel-sided and rather flattened. Moves in a rather cumbersome manner among vegetation and often found in flowers, including roses. Widespread and locally common in Britain and Ireland. Active in sunny weather and seen May­September. Larva lives in rotting wood.
