A curious little insect which is found on rocky shores above the high tide line and in sea caves; widespread around the coasts of Britain and Ireland. The body is elongate and it lacks wings. It has long antennae and three filaments at the tail end. Moves rapidly but in a curious scuttling manner. Feeds on detritus.
