Height up to 7cm

Scarce perennial of limestone grassland in Upper Teesdale and the Burren in W Ireland. Oval leaves form a basal rosette and are borne in opposite pairs up the stem. Solitary, bright blue flowers, 1­2cm long, with five lobes, appear May­June.
