Height up to 30cm

Spreading perennial of dry calcareous grassland. Local and rather scarce in E Britain; rare in Ireland. Hairy, pinnate leaves comprise 6­12 pairs of oval leaflets. Clusters of purple flowers appear May­July, each flower 15­18mm long.
