Height up to 75cm

Roughly-hairy perennial of hedgerows and open woodland. Locally common in S and E England only. Basal leaves stalked and heart-shaped; nettle-like stem leaves oval and toothed. Leafy spikes of blue-violet flowers, 30­40mm long, seen July­August.
