Common and widespread fish around rocky shores of Britain and Ireland. Easily seen while snorkelling off suitable coasts in summer months. Can also be viewed in clear water from jetties and piers, and in rocky gullies. Has cod-like appearance and lateral line which curves smoothly over pectoral fin.
