Willow Tit
Parus montanus
Length 11-12cm
Has a similar distribution to marsh tit although range extends further N into Scotland. Precise distribution seldom overlaps with marsh tit, willow tit preferring more swampy woodland. Very similar in appearance to marsh tit and best told by nasal
tchay tchay tchay call. Pale patch on wing not always distinguishable and dull black cap and larger bib only really reliable when both species present side-by-side. Fairly common but local resident.
