Marsh Tit

Length 11-12cm
Recognised by black cap and bib, brown upperparts and whitish underparts. Very similar to willow tit and best told by loud
pitchoo call. At close range, smaller bib and glossier cap of marsh tit can be seen. A fairly common resident, restricted mainly to England and Wales; scarce in S Scotland but absent from Ireland. Found in deciduous and mixed woodlands and will sometimes visit garden feeders in winter. Sometimes feeds on ground in winter. Nests in tree holes.
