Similar to willow warbler and distinguished by its song (which gives it its name), dark legs and drabber plumage. Widespread summer visitor to Britain and Ireland; early birds arrive in March. Most birds migrate S in autumn but small numbers overwinter in S England. Found in woods and scrub. Call hooeet, similar to willow warbler.
