One of the basic cloth structures, characterized by a diagonal line on the face of the fabric. Variations in structure include herringbone weaves. Denim, gabardine, serge, and some flannels and tweeds are examples of twill fabrics.
The emblem was added to distinguish the flag from that of Italy. The design is based on the French tricolour. The colours are those of the Mexican liberation army. Effective date: 23 November 1968.
