Graf, Steffi

German lawn-tennis player. She brought Martina Navratilova's long reign as the world's number-one female player to an end. In 1988 she won the Grand Slam of singles titles, as well as Olympic gold. In June 1999 she won her sixth French Open singles title, and her 22nd Grand Slam singles in total. Only Chris Evert, with seven victories, has won the women's French Open more times, and only Margaret Court has won more Grand Slam singles titles. In August 1999 Graf announced her retirement from competitive tennis. She is married to tennis player Andre Agassi.

Bahrain flag

Bahrain Flag
White was added to the flag to identify Bahrain as a friendly state. Red was the traditional colour of the Kharijite Sect. In 2002 the number of serrations were reduced to five, possibly representing the five pillars of Islam. Effective date: 19 August 1972.
