New Zealand cricketer who broke Ian Botham's world record of 373 Test wickets by taking 431 (later beaten by Kapil
Dev in 1994). A right-arm fast bowler and left-handed hard-hitting batsman, he played for Canterbury (New Zealand), Nottinghamshire (England), and Tasmania (Australia). He retired in 1990.
