Spring feast of the Christian church, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus. It is a moveable feast, falling on the first Sunday following the full moon after the vernal equinox (21 March); that is, between 22 March and 25 April.
The English name derives from Eostre, Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring, who was honoured in April.
Green symbolizes hopes of prosperity. Yellow stands for economic development and work. Blue represents peace and happiness. The sun represents light and enlightenment. Effective date: 31 December 2001.
