Skoda Superb gets 1.6 TDI engine

26/08/2010 11:14

The Skoda Superb range now has a 1.6 TDI CR 105bhp engine, resulting in significant CO2 reductions.

The 1.6 TDI CR (Common Rail) 105 bhp engine offers improved refinement, fuel consumption and CO2 over the 1.9 TDI PD unit which it replaces.

Combined mpg has been improved by 6.9 mpg for the Hatch, and 5.6 mpg for the Estate, while emissions have been reduced by 19 g/km and 20 g/km respectively.

This means that the Superb Hatch 1.6 TDI CR emits 130 g/km CO2 (VED band D) and the Superb Estate 1.6 TDI CR emits 133 g/km CO2 (VED band E).

This equates to 56.5 mpg for the hatch and 54.3 mpg for the estate.

Available in S and SE trim levels, the 1.6 TDI CR comes with a five speed manual gearbox and is now available to order. Prices start at just £17,480.
