This means a
reduction from 174g/km to 143g/km and improved fuel economy of 51.3mpg.
It also has
negligible particulate emissions of just 0.003g/km.
This makes
the forthcoming SX4 4x4 the second most economical diesel 4x4 you can buy in
the UK, after the Fiat Panda Cross. Admittedly both are small 4x4s, but if you
want a 4x4 that also averages over 50mpg, then the choice is increasing.
The next most
economical 4x4 is the BMW X1 xDrive 1.8d SE with a combined 49.6mpg. You may be
surprised that the Subaru Outback diesel comes next with 48.7mpg – no other 4x4
or crossover of this size still comes close to this economy.

The SX4 4x4
with the 2.0-DDiS engine will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show and
will be introduced in 2010.
Suzuki also
has a ‘Green Light’ campaign which is an opportunity for Suzuki customers to
get their car checked at a local Suzuki dealership to ensure that the vehicles
emissions are at the correct level, fuel economy is at its optimum and all
contributing factors such as tyre wear, pressure and brakes are balanced.
The Green
Light check is not a full service and it can be done whilst the customer waits
for a recommended price of £15.99.
