British Member of Parliament Lindsay Hoyle (R) runs down College Green during the '2007 Parliamentary Pancake Race' in aid of charity early Shrove Tuesday morning in central London, 20 February 2007. The MP's won the race against a team from the House of Lords and the media. The race is in aid of charity and supports Rehab UK, a brain injury charity. Shrove Tuesday is the last day before the Christian religious festival ofLent. Pancakes are eaten on this day because they contain fat, butter and eggs,which were forbidden during the 40 days of fasting before Easter.
