The 'Silent Aircraft Initiative' is a revolutionary concept for a silent aircraft unveiled by researchers from Cambridge University in Britain and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US. The design is intended for the generation after next of aircraft for entry into service in 2030 and will make a huge reduction in noise and offer improvements of around 25% in the fuel consumed in a typical flight compared to current aircraft.
