A teenager has appeared in court charged with encouraging others to riot by posting on Facebook.
Alexander McQuarrie, 16, is accused of breaching the peace by creating a public group on the social networking site on August 8.
The teenager, from Ibrox in Glasgow, was charged with conducting himself in a disorderly manner by inciting others to riot in Glasgow on August 12.
He made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
He was remanded in custody for further examination and is due back in court next week.
In a separate case, a young man accused of using Facebook to encourage others to riot in Dundee city centre appeared in court.
Liam Allan, 18, appeared on petition in private at Dundee Sheriff Court charged with breach of the peace.
He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
The case was committed for further examination and Allan is expected to appear in court again next week.
