Single release date: 29th March 2004
Pop music as we know it is dead. Westlife, Atomic Kitten and S Club have either split or are on the verge of disintegration and the various talent show pop stars have had only a limited shelf life.
Instead the charts are full of teen-punks that take their cues from Green Day, Nirvana and the Buzzcocks. Busted and Avril Lavigne have paved the way and now a new generation of pop-punk kids is set to emerge.
America has already fallen under the spell of Fefe Dobson and now it's Mcfly's turn to seduce Britain.
Their debut single '5 Colours In Her Hair' is a fantastic slice of power-pop that features catchy hooks, fast guitars and a knowing, 'adult' lyrical twist.
