Single release date: 24th May 2004
Drawing comparisons with Happy Mondays, New Order and Blur, Grand National emerged in late 2003 to a fanfare of press excitement. Their diverse yet brilliant 'EP1' proved that they were able to stand tall with their peers and produce some very exciting new sounds.
'Kicking The National Habit' is the band's debut album. An experimental pop masterpiece, it showcases their unique ability to work with cutting edge technology and classic songwriting techniques to produce genuinely magical moments.
Album highlights include the mental 'Playing The Distance', the sublime former single 'Talk Amongst Yourselves' and the glorious 'Cherry Tree' all tracks capable of making Grand National the name to drop in the coolest of circles.
"Captures echoes of Talk Talk and the choppy punk funk of Gang Of Four" NME
