Singledom (all released 2nd December 2002)

2002-12-02

Eminem - Lose Yourself (cover sleeve pictured above)

The title track from his semi-autobiographical movie debut, '8 Mile', new single 'Lose Yourself' finds controversial rapper Eminem at his most commanding and inspirational.

In complete contrast to the dark, and deeply personal lyrics of last single 'Cleanin' Out My Closet', 'Lose Yourself' is raw and punchy hip-hop drama that'll find Marshall Mathers back out on the dancefloor where he belongs.

Whilst both formats also come with a brilliant bonus track in the shape of'Renegade'.

  • Cheeky Girls - The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum)

It's the time of year isn't it? Sung by two-times Transylvanian Pop Rivals losers Monica and Gabriela Irimia, 'The Cheeky Song' is a daft, but incredibly catchy slice of novelty pop that's bound to become a favourite at this year's best Xmas parties.

Cheeky (hence the title), funny and irresistibly catchy, it's one of those songs that, no matter how hard you try, is impossible to ignore - let alone avoid.

Both formats come with bonus remixes, with the CD adding the video.

  • Robbie Williams - Feel

It's hard to imagine that Robbie Williams has been away as he's rarely out of the news. Whether it's his bitter personal/professional feuds (delete where applicable), tabloid exposure, general 'Robbieisms' or THAT massive new record deal with EMI, he feels (no pun) like he's not been anywhere.

Well, he has, and he's back! The first single from his fifth, and some are already saying, best studio album, 'Feel' is another wonderful dose of Robbie pop.

Catchy, uplifting and deeply personal (as is much of the forthcoming album), it's a superb return from a young singer/songwriter who seems to be getting better and better with age.

Both formats of this release include bonus tracks and exclusive video footage.

  • Liberty X - Holding On For You

The follow-up to Mantronix cover 'Got To Have Your Love' and number one (and seventh biggest selling single of 2002, so far) 'Just A Little', 'Holding On For You' confirms Liberty X's position as a potent pop force in their own right.

Highlighting their versatility and heading deep into ballad territory, it's an uplifting, beautifully performed song that shows off five wonderful voices and looks like an early contender for the Xmas top spot.

    Both formats include bonus tracks/remixes.

  • Aqualung - Good Times Gonna Come

The follow-up to his Top 10 debut single, 'Strange And Beautiful' (lifted from the VW Beetle ads), 'Good Times Gonna Come' finds singer/songwriter Matt Hales in majestic form. A different version to the one on Aqualung's debut album, it's another beautiful, but slightly more upbeat, piano-led gem that perfectly illustrates this artist's full musical potential.

Whilst each format also includes some excellent remixes with CD two adding brand new track, 'Nothing Else Matters'.

  • Ms Dynamite - Put Him Out

Seemingly unable to put a foot wrong at the moment, Ms Dynamite returns with another storming single from her brilliant, award-winning debut album.

Off the back of 'It Takes More' and 'Dy-na-mi-tee', the awesomely talented singer/songwriter returns at her most outspoken. A feisty call to arms for down-trodden women, 'Put Him Out' is also another lyrically dynamic r'n'b anthem from one of the UK's most versatile young talents.

Both formats also include a remix from J.D akaDready featuring the vocals of one Bounty Killer.

  • Bruce Springsteen - Lonesome Day (pictured on previous page)

Following the massive success of his latest studio album, 'The Rising', Bruce Springsteen is back for a sell out European tour and his first single release in, count 'em, five whole years.

Another classic slice of rock Americana from The Boss, 'Lonesome Day' is one of those wide-screen, majestic songs that no-one seems to be able to do quite as good as Springsteen.

Whilst both formats also add bonus live tracks.
