Red Hot Chili Peppers - Universally Speaking (pictured above)

It's fair to say that 2002/2003 saw the Chili Peppers scale new heights. They released another classic album, had hit single after hit single and toured the UK (and the world) to some incredible reactions.

Well, the band's latest, 'Universally Speaking', is another classic from an album that seems to be jam-packed with 'em.

Another classy Chili Peppers funk-rock-pop workout, it's also joined, across both formats, by some top-notch bonus tracks and live bits. Don't miss!

  • Kinesis - Forver Reeling

A band that seem to be going from strength-to-strength at the moment, Kinesis follow March's 'And They Obey' with the equally brilliant 'Forever Reeling'.

Already a live favourite, it should put this band even further onto the international metal radar, whilst both formats also come with some exclusive, unheard bonus tracks. Not discovered Kinesis yet? Well, perhaps it's time you did!

  • Jennifer Ellison - Baby I Don't Care

Proving that there's is indeed life after soap, Brookie babe Jennifer Ellison makes her musical debut this week with this infectious cover of the Transvision Vamp classic, 'Baby I Don't Care'.

Ditching the rock vibe, and instead opting for a feisty upbeat blast of pure pop goodness, this is a brilliant cover, and one that sets Jennifer out as a real chart force in her own right.

Both formats also include bonus tracks/mixes as well as an exclusive poster and postcard set a-piece.

  • Fast Food Rockers - Fast Food Song

OK, don't run and hide just yet; this isn't at all as bad as it sounds. A single that's already a playground staple (not to mention big on holiday camp/resort dancefloors the world over), 'Fast Food Song' is a tongue-in-cheek slice of throwaway pop that might not be particularly 'high brow' but what it lacks in coolness it more than makes up for in the good fun department.

In the words of the Fast Food Rockers, 'enjoy your meal'!

  • Darkness - Growing On Me

This week sees camp-metal rockers The Darkness return with another glammed-up insight into their highly anticipated debut album, 'Permission To Land'.

Staying faithful to their own intensely individual (if slightly tongue-in-cheek) style, 'Growing On Me' is a good time rock stomp that should win the band plenty of new fans.

Whilst the CD and 7" include exclusive, non-album tracks, and the DVD CD the brilliant video and some way cool out-take footage.

  • Ashanti - Rock Wit U Awww Baby

Multi-platinum selling r'n'b princess Ashanti returns this week with the first single from her forthcoming Murder Inc album, the aptly titled 'Chapter II'.

Produced (as was the last album) by hip-hop guru Irv Gotti, 'Rock Wit U' finds Ashanti honing her sound into an even silkier r'n'b flow.

Whilst each format comes rammed with top-notch remixes that'll move just about any floor out there.

    Welcome back!

  • Gus Gus - Call Of The Wild

A highlight from Gus Gus's excellent 'Attention' album, 'Call Of The Wild' receives a welcome release this week with a whole slew of top-notch, dancefloor-friendly remixes on offer.

The original still sounds great, whilst mixes from Josh Wink (huge with Darren Emerson, and massive in Miami), Paul Jackson and newcomer Sam La More take this ace track to new, far more euphoric heights.

    A superb package!

  • Heartless Crew - Why

A 'slight' change in musical direction (which is no bad thing), Heartless Crew return this week with 'Why? (Looking Back)', their brilliant, long-awaited, new single.

Produced by Jamaican music maestro Dave Kelly (who's other credits include Shaggy, Beanie Man and Sean Paul, amongst others), this sun-stoked, slinky reggae-tinted groover also comes with slamming remixes from Sticky and drum & bass dons Shy FX & T Power.

  • Royksopp - Sparks

Royksopp keep their seemingly unstoppable momentum rolling along this week with yet another potential classic from their awesome 'Melody AM' album.

'Sparks' is already one of the duo's best, a laidback groover, it has late nights and long summer days written all over it.

Whilst this single also features the previously unreleased track 'Don't Go' alongside mixes of 'Sparks' by Roni Size and Murk and a remix of 'So Easy' by Derrick Carter.

  • Mew - Am I Wry No

Originally released as a very low-key single last September, Mew's simple, yet wonderfully uplifting, 'Am I Wry? No' receives a very welcome re-release this week.

A superb follow-up to last single 'Comforting Sounds', not-to-mention a definite highlight from the band's critically lauded debut album, it also comes with a wealth of bonus tracks making this a must for both fans and newcomers alike.

  • Kurtis Mantronix - Presents Chamonix

Fresh from being one of the hottest tunes in Miami earlier in the year, 'How Did You Know' is also gearing up to be one of the biggest dance tracks of summer 2003 as well.

Released last year on Fatboy Slim's Southern Fried label as just '77 Strings', the slamming house original has had a new vocal added (from name to watch Mim), been given a new title, and now looks set for dancefloor domination.

The new version has also been remixed by Kurtis Mantronix himself and the excellent Tony Senghore.

  • Uncut - Fallin

Praised by just about every corner of the UK's urban/dance press, Un-Cut return this week with 'Fallin'', an effortlessly classy follow-up to the band's soaring debut single, 'Midnight'.

Featuring another show-stopping vocal from diva in making Jenna G around a silkily produced backdrop of infectious beats and bass, it's also joined by quality remixes from James Yarde and Total Science alongside some superb bonus tracks.

    Pure class!

  • Massive Attack - Butterfly Caught

The second single from their '100th Window' album, 'Butterfly Caught' is another deep, brooding masterpiece from the Bristol massive.

Featuring 3-D on vocals around a swirling mix of beautifully emotive strings, dirty beats, and raw, skanking emotion, it's a stunning single, and one that shows Massive Attack haven't lost any of their relevance or sheer individuality.

Both formats also come with a wealth of remixes from Detroit techno legends Octave One, Jagz Kooner, hot hip-hop headRJD2 and Leftfield mainman Paul Daley.
